NCCIA Busts Alleged Cyber Blackmail Network

NCCIA Lahore has arrested three suspects in Multan for their alleged involvement in a honey-trap and cyber blackmailing network, officials said.

The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) Lahore has launched an operation against an alleged honey-trap and cyber blackmailing network in Multan, resulting in the arrest of three suspects.

According to an NCCIA spokesperson, the operation was conducted on the special instructions of Punjab Director NCCIA Muhammad Ali Wasim.

The suspects allegedly used fake social media profiles to target and blackmail citizens.

During the arrests, officials recovered three mobile phones and other digital evidence believed to be relevant to the investigation.

The initial investigation also revealed that the suspects allegedly obtained millions of rupees from one victim through the blackmailing scheme.

Authorities are continuing to examine the recovered digital material and investigate the suspects’ alleged activities and the wider network.

The operation is part of ongoing efforts by cybercrime authorities to crack down on online fraud, blackmail and other forms of digital exploitation.
