National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) has partnered with the Bureau of Emigration & Overseas Employment (BEOE) to introduce a digital fee collection solution for walk-in applicants, expanding cashless payment services across Pakistan’s public sector.
The initiative enables applicants visiting BEOE offices to pay fees instantly through RAAST Person-to-Merchant (P2M) QR code payments. The move is designed to improve convenience, reduce reliance on cash transactions, and strengthen transparency and operational efficiency in public service delivery.
Agreement Signed to Expand Digital Public Services
The agreement was signed by NBP President and Chief Executive Officer Rehmat Ali Hasnie and BEOE Director General Javed Zia.
According to NBP, the partnership supports the government’s broader objective of accelerating digital transformation and promoting secure, cashless payment systems across public sector institutions.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Hasnie said digital payment infrastructure plays a key role in modernizing public services and reflects Pakistan’s ongoing transition from conventional payment methods to digital financial solutions.
RAAST QR Payments to Improve Applicant Experience
Under the partnership, BEOE walk-in applicants will be able to complete fee payments using RAAST P2M QR codes, allowing transactions to be processed instantly through participating digital payment platforms.
NBP said the system is expected to simplify the payment process while improving service efficiency and financial transparency for both applicants and the organization.
NBP Expands Digital Payment Network
The bank said it has been working with a growing number of public and private sector organizations to expand digital payment services across the country.
Institutions already using NBP’s digital payment solutions include the National Highways & Motorway Police, National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA), Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO), the University of the Punjab, WAPDA Employees Cooperative Housing Society Gujranwala, Federal Science College, Government College University Faisalabad (GCUF), and several other government organizations.
NBP said the collaboration with BEOE was coordinated by its Digital Banking Group under the supervision of Group Chief and Chief Digital Officer Adnan Nasir, with officials from both organizations participating in the implementation.
The bank said it will continue expanding digital payment solutions to support a secure, efficient and more inclusive digital economy in Pakistan.
