KARACHI — The inaugural session of the Naval Medicine Seminar 2025 began in Karachi on Tuesday, bringing together delegates from 28 countries under the Western Pacific Naval Symposium (WPNS). The two-day event, hosted by the Pakistan Navy, aims to enhance regional cooperation in naval healthcare and maritime medical readiness.

Pakistan Navy highlights commitment to medical partnerships

Director General Medical Services (Navy), Surgeon Rear Admiral Rizwan Sadiq, addressed the opening session, emphasizing Pakistan Navy’s focus on medical excellence, humanitarian support, and international collaboration through knowledge exchange. Commandant PNS SHIFA introduced the seminar’s theme, stressing innovation, leadership, and resilience in modern naval medical practices.

The first day featured scientific sessions with professional presentations and discussions. Delegates engaged in dialogue on operational medical support and preventive healthcare, reflecting a shared commitment to addressing regional challenges through joint strategies.

Platform for knowledge sharing and regional cooperation

The seminar serves as a forum for exchanging expertise and best practices in naval medicine. It aims to strengthen mutual understanding and professional ties among regional navies, with a focus on medical readiness at sea.
