The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has terminated the services of its CEO Zulfiqar Ahmed after it was revealed that his academic credentials were fake.
The resignation has been officially announced.
NADRA has asked the Higher Education Commission (HEC) to verify Ahmed’s qualifications. During the investigation, it was found that the MBA degree from Masonic University, USA was fake. Also, discrepancies found at the BBA level as the name of the college mentioned at the time of issue does not match the previous records.
The Islamabad High Court upheld the HEC’s decision to cancel the equivalence of the MBA degree. NADRA then informed Zulfikar Ahmed about the reason, but failed to provide a satisfactory explanation.
Due to the court order and Ahmed’s inadequate response, the NADRA chairman decided to suspend his work.
