PESHAWAR: Muhammad Zubair Khan Kundi has formally assumed charge as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Tribal Areas Electric Supply Company (TESCO), bringing more than 34 years of experience in Pakistan’s power sector to the role.
Before his appointment as TESCO CEO, Kundi was serving as General Manager (Operation) at Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO).
During his career spanning more than three decades, he has served in several key positions and gained extensive experience in power sector management and field operations.
His professional background covers the technical, administrative and operational aspects of the electricity distribution system, experience that will be central to his new role at TESCO, which operates across tribal districts with distinct geographical and administrative challenges.
After assuming charge, Kundi outlined improving TESCO’s overall performance and customer services among his key priorities.
He said efforts would also focus on reducing line losses, improving recoveries and strengthening the company’s administrative and operational systems.
Kundi identified professional discipline, teamwork, effective monitoring, greater use of modern technology and improvements in field operations as key areas for TESCO’s future development.
The new CEO said he would work alongside the company’s officers and employees to improve operational performance and services for electricity consumers.
TESCO officers and employees welcomed Kundi on assuming charge and extended their best wishes for his tenure.
They expressed hope that under his leadership, the company would continue modernising its operations and move towards becoming a more efficient, transparent and customer-focused electricity distribution company while improving the reliability of services for consumers across the tribal districts.
