ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Television (PTV) batter Mohammad Shahzad has set a new record for the fastest century in Pakistani first-class cricket, reaching the milestone in just 49 balls during the third round of the President’s Trophy Grade-I.
Shahzad achieved the feat while playing against Kingsmen Academy at the Diamond Cricket Ground in Islamabad.
His century surpassed the previous record held by former Pakistan captain Misbah-ul-Haq, who scored a 56-ball century against Australia in 2014.
Shahzad’s explosive innings featured 12 fours and eight sixes. He eventually scored 114 runs off 62 balls, maintaining an aggressive approach throughout his innings.
The record-breaking performance adds another notable achievement to Pakistan’s domestic first-class cricket history.
