SWAT — The Swat District Judiciary has inaugurated several modern facilities at the District Courts Swat, including an e-library, a solar energy system and a water filtration plant, as part of efforts to improve judicial infrastructure and services for the public.
The projects were completed under the Access to Justice Development Fund with the aim of modernizing court facilities and providing better services to litigants, lawyers and court staff.
The inauguration ceremony was presided over by District and Sessions Judge/Qazi Swat Asad Hameed Khan and attended by additional district and sessions judges, senior civil judges, other judicial officers, members of the legal community and court staff.
Strengthening judicial research and services
Addressing the ceremony, Asad Hameed Khan said the establishment of the e-library would enhance research capabilities within the judiciary by providing access to modern digital legal resources.
He noted that the integration of technology into the judicial system plays an important role in improving efficiency and supporting timely delivery of justice.
Sustainable and public service initiatives
The district and sessions judge also highlighted the installation of a solar energy system, which is expected to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply to court facilities while reducing operational costs and promoting environmentally sustainable practices.
In addition, a water filtration plant has been installed to provide clean drinking water for litigants, lawyers and court staff within the court premises.
Officials acknowledged that the initiatives were made possible through the support of the Chief Justice of Pakistan, the Chief Justice of the Peshawar High Court, the Registrar of the Peshawar High Court and the Resident Additional Secretary of the Access to Justice Development Fund.
