LAHORE, May 19: MG Motor Pakistan has unveiled the new MG4 EV Urban, introducing a compact electric hatchback aimed at expanding practical and technology-focused electric mobility options in Pakistan.
The launch event in Lahore brought together dealership representatives, media officials and industry stakeholders for the first public introduction of MG’s latest electric vehicle model for the Pakistani market.
Globally, the MG4 has become one of the company’s best-selling electric vehicles, with more than 200,000 units sold worldwide, according to MG Motor Pakistan.
The company said the MG4 EV Urban has been designed for urban drivers looking for a combination of efficiency, modern technology and everyday practicality.
Electric range and charging features
The MG4 EV Urban is equipped with a 43-kWh battery paired with a front-wheel-drive electric motor producing 110 kW power and 250 Nm torque.
According to the company, the vehicle offers a driving range of up to 316 kilometres on a single charge under WLTP standards.
The EV also supports DC fast charging, allowing the battery to charge from 10 percent to 80 percent in around 28 minutes.
MG Motor Pakistan has priced the vehicle at Rs6.949 million and said it is targeting young professionals, urban families and buyers interested in transitioning to electric mobility.
Focus on technology and safety
Speaking at the launch event, MG Motor Pakistan CEO Jianqiang Shao said the MG4 EV Urban reflected the company’s commitment to expanding accessible electric mobility solutions in Pakistan.
The vehicle includes a 12.8-inch infotainment touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless charging and heated front seats.
Safety and driver assistance features include Adaptive Cruise Control, Autonomous Emergency Braking, Blind Spot Detection, Lane Keep Assist and a 540-degree HD camera system.
With the launch of the MG4 EV Urban, MG Motor Pakistan has further expanded its electric and new energy vehicle portfolio in the country.
