Meera says lead role in ‘Psycho’ was originally written for Shaan Shahid

LAHORE:Pakistani actress Meera has revealed that the lead role in the newly released film Psycho was initially written for actor and filmmaker Shaan Shahid before he decided to hand the character over to her.

The revelation came during a recent interview in which Meera and Shaan Shahid discussed their latest film, which was released in cinemas this week.

Speaking about the project, Meera praised Shaan Shahid’s work as a filmmaker and said she remained deeply influenced by her role even after completing the film.

She described herself as a “director’s actress” and said she prefers working on projects led by filmmakers whose creative vision she trusts.

Shaan confirms role was initially intended for him

During the interview, Meera stated that Shaan Shahid had originally planned to play the film’s central character himself before later offering the role to her.

Confirming her remarks, Shaan said the character had indeed been written with him in mind during the early stages of development.

He explained that he had spent time imagining how he would portray the role but ultimately decided that Meera would be a suitable choice for the character.

Film released in cinemas

Psycho was released in cinemas this week and features a cast that includes Shaan Shahid, Sonya Hussyn, Meera, Shabbir Jan and other performers.

The film marks another collaboration between some of Pakistan’s well-known entertainment industry figures and has attracted attention following comments by its cast during promotional interviews.
