MCMC participants visit FBR headquarters, briefed on reform agenda

ISLAMABAD, Jan 7 — Participants of the 45th Mid-Career Management Course (MCMC) from the National Institute of Public Administration (NIPA), Karachi, visited the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) headquarters as part of their inland study tour.

During a meeting chaired by Member Taxpayers’ Services Wing, Ms. Tehmina Aamer, the visiting officers were briefed on FBR’s ongoing reform agenda. She highlighted key initiatives focused on revenue mobilization, transparency, digital transformation, and enhanced taxpayer facilitation.

Ms. Aamer urged the participants to uphold integrity, professionalism, and public service, stressing their role as civil servants in strengthening institutions and serving the nation.

Presentations on reforms and revenue collection

Representing Inland Revenue Service, Secretary Inland Revenue Operations Shafqat Rasool Sandhu and Dr. Najeebullah, Chief of the Transfer Delivery Unit, gave detailed presentations on revenue collection strategies and change management reforms. The session included an interactive discussion, with participants raising questions and engaging on policy matters.

From Pakistan Customs, Dr. Farid Salarzai briefed the group on customs-related revenue measures and institutional reforms, generating further discussion among the officers.

Concluding session

At the conclusion of the visit, NIPA faculty expressed appreciation to FBR management for the comprehensive briefing. Commemorative shields were exchanged as a gesture of goodwill.

The faculty and participants termed the visit highly successful, noting that it provided valuable insight into the role of the Federal Board of Revenue in fiscal governance, institutional reforms, and public sector modernization.
