MASTUNG, September 14: Security forces killed three militants, including a commander identified as Naqeeb, during an operation in Mastung district of Balochistan, security sources said on Monday.
According to the sources, the operation targeted members of what Pakistani authorities describe as “Fitna al-Hindustan”, a term used by the government for India-backed militant elements operating in Balochistan.
Security sources said forces identified and targeted a vehicle carrying the militants with the help of a quadcopter during the operation.
The strike killed all three militants travelling in the vehicle, including commander Naqeeb, while the vehicle was completely destroyed, the sources added.
Security forces said operations against militant groups in Balochistan would continue as part of efforts to eliminate terrorism and restore security in the province.
The latest action comes amid ongoing counterterrorism operations by security forces in different parts of Balochistan.
