KARACHI: All 44 graduates of the first MariEnergies Digital Skills, Training & Employment Programme have secured internships or employment after completing a five-month technology bootcamp aimed at young people from rural communities across Pakistan.
MariEnergies Limited and xLoop Digital marked the completion of the programme’s first cohort at a graduation ceremony held at xLoop Digital’s office in Karachi.
The programme trained 44 participants, including five women, in Artificial Intelligence, Agentic Development and Full Stack Development, combining structured instruction with hands-on, project-based learning.
Organisers said the initiative was designed to equip participants with practical technology skills while creating a direct pathway into the job market. All 44 graduates have now been placed in internships or employment following completion of the training.
The graduation ceremony was attended by MariEnergies Managing Director Faheem Haider, Director HSE Naseem Qamar, xLoop Digital CEO and Founder Mir Nasir and xLoop Chairman Danish Iqbal.
Addressing the graduates, Haider stressed the need for continuous learning as technology and workplace requirements evolve rapidly. He also announced that MariEnergies would support graduates who want to pursue university-level education.
Naseem Qamar said the programme was intended to go beyond training and certification by linking skills development with employment and sustainable livelihoods.
He said the initiative sought to connect young people from areas where MariEnergies operates with opportunities that could help translate their talent and ambition into long-term careers.
Graduates received certificates at the ceremony, while top-performing participants were awarded shields and laptops.
Three participants who maintained 100% attendance were also awarded Evee electric bikes through a lucky draw.
MariEnergies and xLoop Digital plan to launch the second cohort of the programme in September 2026.
The initiative forms part of MariEnergies’ wider focus on education, youth development, employability, diversity and inclusion, particularly in communities linked to the company’s operational areas.
