Mari Energies Limited has made a fresh breakthrough, announcing the discovery of new oil and gas reserves at its Mari Ghazij CF-B1 well in Sindh. The well is located within the Mari Development and Production Lease (Mari D&PL), where the company holds full operational control with a 100% working interest.
Drilled on September 12, 2025, the CF-B1 well reached a depth of 1,195 meters into the SUL formation. It was designed to explore oil-prone zones within the Ghazij formation — and it delivered. During testing, the well flowed 305 barrels of oil per day along with 3 million standard cubic feet of gas per day. The wellhead pressure clocked in at 225 psi on a 48/64-inch choke.
This is the second successful find in the Mari Ghazij collapsed structures identified through seismic mapping. Faheem Haider, Managing Director and CEO of Mari Energies, called the discovery a major win for the company’s geoscience team. He confirmed that more wells targeting similar features are already in the pipeline, alongside efforts to bring this new find into production quickly.
Haider also emphasized the company’s broader mission: to support Pakistan’s energy independence by boosting output from existing fields and fast-tracking new oil and gas reserves.
Mari Energies is one of the country’s leading exploration and production companies. It operates Pakistan’s largest gas reservoir in the Mari lease area in Daharki, Sindh, and contributes nearly 30% of the nation’s total gas supply. With this latest addition to its oil and gas reserves, the company is doubling down on its role in securing the country’s energy future.
