MARDAN: DSP Shakeel Khan has appealed to the public to assist the police in identifying criminal elements so that the area can be made crime-free and secure. The Takht Bahi Circle Police arrested a three-member gang involved in motorcycle theft with great bravery and skill. They recovered 16 stolen motorcycles and 40,000 rupees in cash from the gang, dismantling a significant criminal network.
In this regard, DSP Shakeel Khan of the Takht Bahi Circle held a press conference at the Takhte Bahi Police Station. Additional SHO Tajbar Shah Khan and Investigating Officer ASI Imtiaz Khan were also present. Speaking to the media, DSP Shakeel Khan stated that DPO Mardan Zahoor Babar Afridi had taken strict notice of the increasing incidents of motorcycle thefts in the district. A special police team was formed to arrest the culprits promptly.
Yesterday, during a motorcycle theft attempt, the team caught a thief named Azaan, son of Noor Rehman, resident of Chaman Kalle, Takht Bahi, red-handed. During interrogation, the suspect revealed the names of two accomplices: Ibrahim, son of Zahir Shah, resident of Mohalla Nawaban, and Zeeshan, son of Adam, resident of Shah Noor Bridge. Both were also immediately arrested. The police recovered 15 stolen 70cc motorcycles, one Honda 125 motorcycle, and 40,000 rupees in cash from their possession.
DSP Shakeel Khan mentioned that the increasing motorcycle thefts were a significant challenge for the police. This successful operation is a testament to the police’s dedication to duty. He further stated that ASI Abdullah Jan provided crucial information during the operation and assisted in the arrests, for which his efforts were appreciated.
