MARDAN: City Mayor Mardan Himayat Ullah Mayar has said that the City Local Council is taking practical and concrete steps to bring justice to the people at their doorsteps. So that people’s problems can be reduced. We strongly demand the provincial government to release the development funds that have been blocked for three years as soon as possible so that the development works can be completed. He expressed these views while addressing the City Local Council meeting. Convener Babar Khan presided over the meeting. The meeting was attended by TMO Mardan besides officers from other departments. Addressing the meeting, City Mayor Mardan demanded from the meeting that additional helpers, sanitary workers, firemen, cleaners and naib qasid in TMA Mardan should be assigned duties in Neighborhood Council and Village Council. He also demanded that new cattle, motor car, motorcycle etc. fairs should be approved. There was also a demand for the cancellation of the signboard contract and approval of disciplinary action against the contractor. All the members of the City Local Council approved all the above resolutions. On which City Mayor Himayat Ullah Mayar expressed his views and said that the additional staff of TMA Mardan will perform duties in village councils and neighborhood councils such as Naib Qasadaran, Beldaran etc., which will also solve the problems of NCs and VCs. He directed that any officials who show dereliction of duty should submit a report against them so that disciplinary action can be taken against them. He said that approval of festivals will increase the TMA taxes which will be spent on the welfare of the people. He further said that the signboard contract should be canceled and new contractors should be referred and action should be taken against the contractor. Finally, Mayor Mardan condole the death of Faiq Bacha, Alamzeb Chairman and other members of the City Council appreciated their services and prayed for their forgiveness.
