MARDAN: Commissioner Mardan Division Nisar Ahmad visited the District Headquarters Hospital Mardan. He reviewed the ongoing work on the OPD block, mosque, hostels, and diagnostic block under the hospital’s development package number three. Deputy Commissioner Mardan Dr. Azmatullah Wazir was also accompanying him.
The hospital’s Medical Superintendent Dr. Javed Iqbal and SEC&WW briefed the Commissioner Mardan, saying that under the package three of the DHQ hospital, work is underway to expand the hospital to 600 beds at a cost of Rs 2.6 billion. 80 to 85 percent of the construction work on the facilities under this package has been completed, but the problem of funds is pending for the remaining work, for which the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ali Amin Gandapur has approved funds of Rs 20 crore.
Commissioner Mardan Division Mardan Nisar Ahmad inspected the ongoing development work and construction work in detail. He said that the DHQ hospital is located in the center of Mardan city and there is a lot of rush of patients from the city and outside, so it is necessary to complete the work under package three as soon as possible.The hospital’s Medical Superintendent Dr. Javed Iqbal said that the construction of a connecting bridge on Sunehri Road is necessary to connect the two blocks of the DHQ hospital, so that the transfer of patients from the old block to the private rooms can be facilitated. He said that more than 80% of the work on package three has been completed for a long time, and if the funds are not provided in time, there is a risk of damage to the installed machinery and the building.Commissioner Mardan assured that necessary funds would be provided to complete the package three of the hospital as soon as possible by contacting the provincial government. He expressed hope that there would be positive progress in this regard soon. He also reviewed the facilities provided to the patients in the hospital and directed the hospital administration to ensure the provision of maximum facilities to the patients.
