MUMBAI, October 15, 2026: Netflix has released the trailer for Indian actor Manoj Bajpayee’s upcoming crime thriller Gajab Raat, announcing that the film will premiere on the streaming platform on October 23, 2026.
The film was initially titled Ghooskhor Pandat but was renamed Gajab Raat following controversy and objections over its original title.
Sharing the trailer on social media, Netflix described the film as a story involving multiple narratives, several characters and a single night, with the mystery unfolding as the different storylines connect.
What Does The Trailer Show?
The trailer presents a suspense-driven crime thriller revolving around events that unfold over the course of one night. The story brings together multiple characters whose lives and circumstances become interconnected.
Bajpayee plays the lead role. The supporting cast includes Akshay Oberoi, Saqib Saleem, Tabu Dutta, Nushrratt Bharuccha, Kiku Sharda and Shraddha Das.
Why Was The Film Renamed?
The film’s original title was announced in February 2026 and drew strong objections from members of the Brahmin community, who considered it offensive.
The controversy reportedly led to a police complaint against Netflix and the filmmakers, as well as a petition seeking a ban on the film. Promotional material was subsequently withdrawn, and the filmmakers indicated that the title would be changed.
The project is now being promoted under the name Gajab Raat.
The film is produced by filmmaker Neeraj Pandey, known for suspense and crime thrillers such as A Wednesday!, Special 26 and Baby. Ritesh Shah has directed the film.
Gajab Raat is scheduled to premiere exclusively on Netflix on October 23, 2026.
