ATTOCK, September 30, 2026: A suspect allegedly linked to the double murder at Malho Mor in the Waisa area was killed during a police encounter with the Counter Crime Department (CCD) Attock, police said.
According to police, a team of alleged hired shooters opened fire on a CCD team near Haji Shah Dam on Rumian Link Road within the jurisdiction of Attock Khurd. Police said officers returned fire, triggering an exchange in which suspected gangster Shah Saud was killed.
Police identified the deceased as the son of Ahmed Shah and a resident of Akora Khattak in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. A .30-bore pistol was reportedly recovered from his possession, according to police.
Other suspects allegedly involved in the group escaped under the cover of darkness, prompting the CCD to launch a search operation in the surrounding area.
Police said Shah Saud was wanted in several alleged contract-killing cases registered in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He had also previously been arrested in connection with a double-murder case but allegedly escaped from police custody.
According to police records, Saud was reportedly a close associate of Attaullah Khan of Jabi Nizam Pur.
The development is linked to the double murder reported at Malho Mor, Waisa, in which Abdul Shakoor and Atif Khan, both residents of Jabi Nizam Pur, were killed.
Police said the two men were involved in the gold-mining business and were travelling from a medical store in Waisa towards Malho, where their in-laws lived, when unidentified gunmen opened fire on them. Both victims died at the scene, according to police.
Investigators subsequently collected evidence and developed leads concerning the alleged shooters. Police said the latest operation resulted in the death of one of the suspects allegedly linked to the case.
The body of the deceased suspect has been shifted to Civil Hospital Attock for a post-mortem examination. A search operation is continuing to locate and arrest the remaining suspects.
