Commissioner Malakand Division, Abid Khan, has stated that Malakand Division enjoys exemplary peace compared to other divisions of the province, and there is no possibility of any military operation in the region. He emphasized that all districts of Malakand Division have great tourism potential, and efforts are being made to provide maximum facilities for both domestic and foreign tourists. He assured that tourists can visit Malakand Division without any fear.Speaking to the media during his visit to Lower Dir, accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Arif Khan, he said that government resources should be spent on projects that directly benefit the people. He also assured that all ongoing mega development projects in Lower Dir would be completed soon, and the issue of funding shortages would be raised with the provincial government.He announced that the Koto Hydel Power Project would be operational by February, generating 41 megawatts of electricity. He also warned that unnecessary power outages would not be tolerated and that WAPDA would not be allowed to implement load shedding without a proper schedule.The commissioner further stated that encroachments in markets, rivers, and drainage areas would not be tolerated, and strict action would be taken under the directives of the Supreme Court and High Court.He emphasized that open public forums (Khuli Kachehri) are meant to address public grievances and directed the administration not to turn them into mere photo sessions but to ensure real solutions for the people.
Earlier, Commissioner Abid Khan held a detailed meeting with the heads of all departments in Lower Dir to review law and order, development projects, and the performance of government institutions. He also visited the Drug Rehabilitation Center and addressed a Grand Public Jirga.
