Main suspect arrested within 24 hours in Upper Dir blind murder case

UPPER DIR: Police in Upper Dir have arrested the main suspect in a blind murder case within 24 hours of the incident, following a special investigation launched on the directives of District Police Officer (DPO) Upper Dir.

According to police, a murder was reported on June 4, 2026, within the jurisdiction of Gandigar Police Station. Following the incident, FIR No. 114/2026 was registered under Section 302 of the Pakistan Penal Code against unidentified suspects on the complaint of the victim’s family.

Police said DPO Upper Dir Aslam Nawaz visited the crime scene shortly after the incident and constituted a special investigation team headed by SDPO Wari Circle Fakhr Alam Khan and SHO Gandigar Lal Bahadur Khan. The team was tasked with identifying and arresting those involved in the murder.

According to officials, investigators used technical evidence, scientific investigation methods, and intelligence-based policing to trace the suspect. As a result, the main accused, Malik Saad, son of Muhammad Nadeem and a resident of Babiwar, was arrested within 24 hours.

Investigation continues

Police said further interrogation of the suspect is underway, while investigators are examining other aspects of the case to determine the motive and identify any additional individuals who may have been involved.

DPO Aslam Nawaz congratulated the investigation team on the arrest and said police would continue taking action against criminal elements without discrimination.

He added that law enforcement agencies remain committed to ensuring timely investigations and the provision of justice through legal procedures.
