DUBAI: Pakistani superstar Mahira Khan has said she is enjoying the current phase of her life and is not concerned about a future in which she may no longer be offered traditional heroine roles.
Speaking during a special session titled “From Story to Character” at a literary and cultural event in Dubai, the actress reflected on fame, career growth, and the evolving nature of roles available to performers as they progress through different stages of life.
Mahira Khan said she values both professional success and the affection she receives from her fans, describing her connection with audiences as an important part of her career.
Focus remains on work, not fame
The actress noted that while she appreciates public recognition and support, she understands that fame and success are not permanent.
She said this awareness has helped her stay focused on her craft rather than becoming overly attached to popularity or public attention.
Open to different and challenging roles
Mahira Khan said she is comfortable with the idea that a time may come when she is no longer cast as the conventional lead heroine in films or television projects.
Rather than viewing that possibility as a concern, she said she sees it as a natural part of an actor’s journey and believes the transition may be approaching.
The actress also encouraged directors and producers to consider her for a wider range of characters instead of limiting her to traditional leading roles. She expressed interest in exploring more diverse and challenging performances that would allow her to showcase different aspects of her acting abilities.
Mahira Khan remains one of Pakistan’s most prominent actors and has built a successful career across television, film, and international projects.
