Pakistan batter Maaz Sadaqat made Caribbean Premier League history with a record-breaking century in the 2026 final, although his outstanding innings could not prevent Jamaica Kingsmen from losing to Antigua and Barbuda Falcons.
Sadaqat smashed 114 runs off 58 balls, including eight fours and nine sixes, as Jamaica Kingsmen posted 170 for nine at Kensington Oval in Bridgetown. His century made him the first batter to score a hundred in a CPL final and the first Pakistani to score a century in the final of a franchise T20 tournament.
Sadaqat Sets Multiple CPL Records
Sadaqat reached his half-century from 27 balls and completed his century off 49 deliveries before finishing with a strike rate of 196.55.
His 114 also became the highest individual score in a CPL final, surpassing the previous record marks in the tournament’s championship match.
The innings was particularly significant because wickets continued to fall at the other end. Saim Ayub was the only other Jamaica batter to make a substantial contribution, scoring 29 from 22 balls.
Sadaqat was eventually dismissed on the final ball of the innings, caught by Joshua James off Shamar Springer.
Second Century of the Tournament
The final was Sadaqat’s second century of the 2026 CPL season.
Earlier in the Eliminator, he smashed 112 off 49 balls, becoming the youngest centurion in CPL history. His second century also made him the first overseas player and only the fourth batter overall to score two centuries in a single CPL season.
Sadaqat finished the tournament with 363 runs in seven matches, averaging 60.50 with a strike rate of 174.52.
Falcons Chase Down 171 With 20 Balls to Spare
Despite Sadaqat’s record innings, Jamaica’s total of 170 for nine proved insufficient.
Antigua and Barbuda Falcons chased down the target of 171 in 16.4 overs, finishing on 173 for two to win the final by eight wickets and claim their maiden CPL title.
Amir Jangoo led the successful chase with an unbeaten 57 off 34 balls, while Pakistan’s Hasan Nawaz remained not out on 47 off 35 balls. The pair added an unbeaten 89-run partnership to complete the victory.
Falcons spinner Sufyan Moqim was named Player of the Match after taking four wickets for 14 runs.
Although Jamaica Kingsmen missed out on the title, Sadaqat’s performance placed his name in the CPL record books with one of the most notable individual innings in the tournament’s history.
