Islamabad: In the capital city of Islamabad, under the vision of the IG and DIG, police stations located in posh areas, which already have complete buildings, rooms, and all kinds of facilities, are being renovated at the cost of millions of rupees. Meanwhile, there are several rural area police stations that are being neglected. These stations lack even basic facilities, with no proper buildings, leaving personnel working 24-hour shifts in severe cold without proper seating arrangements.

Among these, the Sangjani Police Station stands out, followed by the Humak, Lohi Bher, and Shams Colony police stations. These stations consist of only four to five rooms, with no additional facilities, not even drinking water. Despite being located in or near posh areas, the Lohi Bher and Shams Colony police stations remain deprived of basic and central amenities. On the other hand, millions of rupees are being spent on modern renovations in areas where such work was not urgently needed.

It would have been more appropriate to first provide essential facilities and buildings to the neglected police stations, ensuring the welfare of both the personnel on duty and the public. Currently, in these under-equipped stations, if eight to ten individuals visit at the same time, they are forced to stand outside in the extreme cold.

We hope that the IG and DIG Islamabad will enhance their vision by prioritizing the urgent needs of these neglected police stations. Immediate steps should be taken to improve these facilities for the welfare of both the police staff and the public.
