TIMERGARA: A one-day training session on the effective use of the Ehsaas Baldiya (Municipal) App has concluded in Lower Dir, aiming to improve the registration, monitoring and resolution of citizens’ complaints related to municipal services.

The training was organized by the Centre for Peace and Development Initiatives (CPDI) for staff of the Local Government and Tehsil Municipal Administration (TMA) at the District Headquarters in Timergara.

The session was conducted in collaboration with the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Department of Local Government, Elections and Rural Development, with support from the German Development Cooperation (GIZ).

Focus on Faster Complaint Resolution

The initiative aims to make it easier for citizens to report municipal issues, including sanitation, waste management and drainage, while enabling officials to monitor complaints and ensure their timely resolution.

Participants received practical training on using the app and managing an effective complaint-redressal system. The session also focused on strengthening the capacity of officials responsible for handling citizen complaints.

The training was attended by the Assistant Director of Local Government, officials from Tehsil Balambat and Tehsil Maidan, and representatives of other relevant departments.

Push for Digital Governance

The initiative forms part of broader efforts to promote digital governance and improve the delivery of municipal services at the local level.

Officials said the use of digital tools can help make municipal services more transparent, responsive and accountable while enabling authorities to better address citizens’ day-to-day concerns.
