Islamabad: Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Libyan Arab Armed Forces Lieutenant General Saddam Khalifa Haftar met Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf at Naval Headquarters in Islamabad on February 2, 2026, to discuss regional maritime security and bilateral defence cooperation.
According to a statement issued by the Directorate General Public Relations (Navy), the meeting focused on matters of mutual interest, the evolving regional maritime security environment, and ways to further strengthen cooperation in defence and training between the two navies.

Upon arrival at Naval Headquarters, the Libyan deputy commander-in-chief was received by the Pakistan navy chief. During the discussions, Lieutenant General Haftar praised the Pakistan Navy’s role in promoting regional peace and maritime security.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to expanding and diversifying the existing bilateral defence relationship, with an emphasis on continued engagement and professional cooperation.
