Dhudial: The Lahore High Court Rawalpindi Bench’s divisional bench has ordered the acquittal of a murder accused due to insufficient evidence. According to the FIR registered in April 2021 at Dhudial Police Station, the accused, Hammad Hassan Khokhar of Mohra Alho, allegedly shot Suhail Hassan of Mohra Khurd during a roadblock, resulting in Suhail’s death on the spot.
In 2022, the District and Session Judge Chakwal sentenced the accused to death. An appeal was filed against this decision in the Lahore High Court Rawalpindi Bench. On Wednesday, the divisional bench, comprising Justice Sadaqat Ali Khan and Justice Sadiq Mahmood Khurram, heard the case. Based on insufficient evidence, the bench delivered its verdict, acquitting Hammad Hassan Khokhar with honor. Advocate Chaudhry Firdous Ahmed represented the accused in the case.
