LAHORE: The court allowed Usman Dar to perform Umrah by accepting a plea seeking removal of the name from the Provisional National Identification List (PNIL).
Lahore High Court (LHC) Justice Shams Mehmood Mirza heard the plea to remove Dar’s name from PNIL.
During the hearing, Dar’s counsel said that his client wanted to perform Umrah along with his family, but could not do so because the Federal Investigation Agency had included his name in the PNIL, barring him from traveling abroad.
The counsel added that Dar had requested the police and the FIA to have his name removed from the PNIL, but the said departments had not taken any action on the request.
Usman Dar’s counsel requested the court to order the removal of his name from the list and direct the FIA to refrain from obstructing his travel to Saudi Arabia.
The court accepted Usman Dar’s plea and ordered the authorities to remove his name from the no-fly list to allow him to perform Umrah.
Meanwhile, the LHC also accepted the seven-day protective bail of Usman Dar in the GHQ attack case.
