Landowners of Ghara have expressed strong reservations over alleged irregularities and manipulation in land measurement by land settlement officials. In response, they staged a protest in front of the Land Settlement Tehsildar’s office in Malak Abad, Balambat.The protestors warned that if their lands were measured without their consent and registered under someone else’s name, it would lead to severe consequences.
A crucial meeting of landowners from the villages of Malak Abad, Khema, Kundaro, and Andheri in Balambat was held, where participants strongly condemned alleged irregularities in land measurement within the boundaries of Malak Abad, Chargori, Kundaro, and Khema. They claimed that officials had reduced their land holdings and transferred ownership to other individuals, sparking anger and frustration.
During the protest, speakers including Malik Sultan Yousaf, Malik Bakhtoor Khan, Haji Iqbal Hussain, Haji Hussain Muhammad, Haji Sawal Muhammad, Shafi-ur-Rehman, and Advocate Sardar Hayat voiced their concerns. They clarified that they were not against land settlement but accused officials of manipulating records without consulting rightful owners. They alleged that some officials were conspiring to register their land under different names, which could lead to new disputes and enmities among landowners.Later, Land Settlement Tehsildar Abid Raza arrived at the protest site and assured the landowners that their land records were available in the satellite system and that no manipulation had taken place. Following his assurance, the protestors peacefully ended their demonstration.
