In front of the main gate of the camp office of Oil and Gas Developyment Company Limited (OGDCL) near Jhangara Bajara, hundreds of landowners, farmers and local residents of several small and big villages of the Rind community staged a long march and sit-in for several hours.
In this regard, the local zamindars, farmers, local residents of various villages including Dad Mohammad Rind, village Sajjan Khan Rind, village Ibrahim Khan Rind, village Dawood Khan Rind, village Rahim Bakhsh Rind, village Burmani, village Tehri, local residents of Sajjan Khan Rind, Mian Bakhsh Rind, etc. Hundreds of people under the leadership of Mohammad Ibrahim Rind and others took out a long protest march from Jhangara Bajara Road. A protest sit-in was held in front of the main gate of the OGDCL field. The local landowners, farmers and villagers said that during the survey, the company damaged the lands of other valuable crops including wheat, destroyed trees, plants, water reservoirs, but neglected the local people instead of providing compensation and providing wages to the local people. People from other provinces and cities are brought to work, on which we are being threatened to remain silent despite repeatedly complaining to the company management. They have demanded that the local people should be compensated for the loss of land and crops including basic facilities, employment. If the demand is not accepted, they will block the Indus Highway against the company. They were carrying cards on which slogans were written against the illegalities of the OGDCL company management.
