The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief) has completed its annual winter assistance campaign in Pakistan, distributing 22,000 winter kits to vulnerable families in cold and snow-affected regions across the country.

The KSrelief winterization initiative in Pakistan targeted 28 districts experiencing severe winter conditions, including areas in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir, along with selected districts of Punjab and Sindh where temperatures drop significantly during the winter season.

According to officials, the assistance was aimed at helping families cope with harsh weather and reducing risks associated with extreme cold.

Each winter kit included two polyester quilts, warm shawls for men and women, and winter clothing for children and adults. The supplies were distributed to support households facing seasonal hardship in remote and mountainous regions.

The project was implemented in coordination with Pakistan’s disaster management institutions, including the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), Provincial Disaster Management Authorities (PDMAs), the Relief, Rehabilitation and Settlement Department (RRSD) of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Gilgit-Baltistan Disaster Management Authority (GBDMA), and the State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA).

Local administrations and humanitarian partners, including the Hayat Foundation, also supported the distribution process to ensure transparent delivery of aid.

Officials said the initiative reached more than 151,000 individuals across the targeted districts.

KSrelief stated that the program forms part of its broader humanitarian efforts aimed at supporting vulnerable populations and addressing winter-related challenges in Pakistan while strengthening relief cooperation between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan.
