ISLAMABAD: The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief), in coordination with the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), has begun distributing food assistance across 30 districts of Pakistan under the Food Security Support Project Pakistan 2026 (Phase-5).

The initiative aims to support 192,500 vulnerable individuals facing food insecurity during the holy month of Ramazan. Officials said the programme is designed to help low-income households meet their basic nutritional needs throughout the month.

Each food basket weighs 97 kilograms and contains 80 kilograms of wheat flour, five litres of cooking oil, five kilograms of sugar, two kilograms of dates, and five kilograms of gram pulse (daal chana). The package is calculated to sustain an average family for the entire month of Ramazan.

The distribution is being carried out in coordination with Provincial Disaster Management Authorities (PDMAs), the Gilgit-Baltistan Disaster Management Authority (GBDMA), the State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA), and district administrations. KSrelief’s implementing partners, the Hayat Foundation and the Peace & Development Organization, are assisting in the on-ground execution.

Officials said the project reflects KSrelief’s ongoing efforts to address food security challenges in Pakistan and to support vulnerable communities during critical periods, particularly during Ramazan.
