SWAT: A total of 330 police personnel, including 322 male recruits and eight female officers, completed their training and passed out during a ceremony at the Police Training School Swat.
The parade was inspected by Syed Fida Hassan Shah, Regional Police Officer (RPO) Malakand, who also distributed awards to recruits who demonstrated outstanding performance.
District Police Officer Swat Muhammad Umar Khan, SP Investigation Mushtaq Khan, senior police officials and local dignitaries attended the event.
Training and performance
Director Police Training School Swat Habibullah Khan said the institution was established in 2014 and has so far produced 18 batches comprising 6,007 recruits. He said graduates are currently serving in different organizations, including the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), Tourism Police and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police.
During the ceremony, the recruits presented a march past and demonstrated professional skills through counter-terrorism drills, including a mock operation. A commando contingent also performed a special parade.
Female participation
Female recruits from Chitral and other districts participated in the ceremony and expressed their commitment to serving the public.
Recruit Rashid Ali said the batch had undergone rigorous training and was prepared to protect the country and its citizens. Female officers Mehr-un-Nisa and Laila Sahar from Upper Chitral said women were needed in remote areas and pledged to perform their duties with dedication.
RPO Malakand Syed Fida Hassan Shah said the recruits were trained in accordance with modern policing requirements to effectively handle various challenges. He added that the new batch would further strengthen the force and contribute to maintaining law and order.
Officials said the training programme included instruction in law and public order responsibilities, martial arts, effective use of weapons and other professional skills to prepare personnel for operational duties.
