Ministerial Committee headed by Minister Law Aftab Alam Advocate reviews matter related to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Public Service Commission.
A meeting of the Ministerial Committee regarding the financial, administrative matters, performance and reforms of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Public Service Commission (KPPSC) was held under the chairmanship of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Law, Aftab Alam Advocate. The meeting was attended by Minister Elementary and Secondary Education Faisal Khan Tarakai, Minister for Higher Education Meena Khan Afridi, Advisor to the Chief Minister on Finance Muzammil Aslam. Secretaries of Law and Establishment Departments, and officials of the Law, Finance and Establishment Departments and KPPSC were also in the attendance.
During the meeting, the KPPSC officials briefed the committee on the Terms of References (ToRs). Various issues were deliberated upon, including proposals to modernize the KPPSC examination system. Notably, a suggestion to make the examination process computer-based, similar to the ETEA model, was discussed. The meeting also discussed aligning the examination system with modern requirements and leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI) to enhance the transparency and efficiency of the Commission’s operations.
The issue of the delayed appointments of 2,000 lecturers was also highlighted and steps for its resolution were emphasized. Proposals to provide the necessary funds for the Commission’s operating expenses were also considered. Additionally, a proposal to increase the remuneration for paper preparation by 10% in line with the Universal Consumer Price Index (CPI) rate was presented.
