Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Irrigation Minister Aqib Ullah Khan has said that the ongoing cleaning campaign of the canals in the province is properly monitered, the fund allocated for the cleaning campaign will be used only for this purpose, there will be no discount for those who are negligent. He expressed these views yesterday while talking to the media while inspecting the ongoing cleaning campaign of canals in Swabi district. The provincial minister said that monitoring teams have been formed for the success of the campaign and its timely completion.
The Irrigation Minister also appealed to the public representatives to keep an eye on this campaign so that quality work can be ensured. Aqibullah Khan also emphasized on taking care of the roads and related places during the cleaning campaign. He issued instructions that the sludge removed from the canals should be transferred under each SOPs. The Irrigation Minister said that there will be no relaxation with those who are negligent in their responsibilities. He also appealed to the public not to throw garbage in the canals. Provincial Irrigation Minister Aqibullah Khan further said that after the completion of the canal cleaning campaign, it will be easy for the landowners to get water.
