PESHAWAR — Newly appointed Secretary for Information and Public Relations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Matiullah Khan, received a detailed briefing on the structure, functions, and ongoing initiatives of the department during a meeting held at the Information Department.
Officials said the briefing focused on the organizational framework of the Information and Public Relations Department and its role in managing public communication, media coordination, and government information dissemination in the province.
Overview of departmental operations
Additional Secretary Information Hazrat Ali presented the briefing, outlining the department’s various wings, responsibilities, and administrative structure. He also informed the secretary about key projects and initiatives currently being undertaken to strengthen the department’s operational capacity.
The session provided an overview of how different sections of the department coordinate to ensure timely communication of government policies and information to the public.

Officials attend briefing session
The meeting was attended by Director General Information and Public Relations Muhammad Imran Khan, Press Registrar Ansarullah Khilji, Director Administration Ibni Amin, Station Director of Pakhtunkhwa Radio Peshawar Haroon Rashid, Director Creative Wing Dr Danish Babar, Deputy Secretary Anwar Akbar, Deputy Director IT Zar Ali, Planning Officer Hizbullah, and other officers of the department.
Secretary stresses coordinated efforts
Speaking on the occasion, Secretary Information Matiullah Khan appreciated the department’s performance and progress.
He emphasized the importance of coordinated efforts to further improve the department’s efficiency and ensure the effective dissemination of information to the public.
The secretary also expressed his commitment to utilizing available resources to strengthen the institution and enhance the department’s role in public communication.
