UPPER DIR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has taken steps to strengthen the security framework in Upper Dir district.
A meeting of the District Coordination Committee was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Naveed Akbar, as per direction by Abid Wazir Commissioner Malakand Division.
The meeting was attended by Brigadier Sanaullah, Sector Commander Dir Scouts, district officials, law enforcement agencies, and intelligence officers. The Deputy Commissioner specifically directed the committee to focus on several key areas, including illegal Spectrum Profiling of ACC card holders and NCP vehicles to prevent unauthorized spectrum usage.
Counter-Terrorism Coordinated efforts to eliminate terrorism and extremism in the district.
Rule of Law Strengthening the rule of law in the district by implementing the decisions of the Apex Committee.
Narcotics and Smuggling Measures to control narcotics and prevent smuggling activities.
Electricity Theft and Unauthorized Petrol Pumps action to prevent electricity theft and shut down unauthorized petrol pumps.registration of Madrasas, Ensuring proper registration of madrasas to prevent misuse.
These decisions aim to improve the security situation in Upper Dir district and ensure the safety of citizens. The committee’s efforts will be crucial in maintaining peace and stability in the region.
The meeting highlights the government’s commitment to addressing security concerns and promoting development in the district. The committee’s work will be essential in implementing the National Action Plan’s policies and ensuring the effective use of resources to tackle security challenges.
