PESHAWAR — Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi met senior newscaster Haroon Rashid Khalil at the Governor House to discuss the promotion of the Pashto language, media development, and literary activities in the province.
The meeting focused on the role of journalism, language, and literature in shaping public discourse and supporting cultural and intellectual growth in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Focus on media and language
Officials said both sides discussed the importance of strengthening Pashto language promotion and encouraging literary initiatives. They noted that media and journalism play a key role in informing society and supporting cultural identity.
Program Producer Abdul Saboor Khattak from Pakistan Television Corporation also attended the meeting.
Support for journalists and writers
Governor Kundi acknowledged the contributions of journalists, writers, and intellectuals in the province, stating that their work is recognised at national and international levels. He emphasised the need to improve the academic and literary environment to guide younger generations.
He also appreciated the professional services of Haroon Rashid Khalil, noting his long-standing contribution to journalism.

Haroon Rashid Khalil welcomed ongoing efforts aimed at promoting a positive image of the province and highlighted the importance of initiatives related to youth engagement and women’s empowerment.
