KP Food Authority Seizes 300kg of Unhygienic Meat in Timergara Bazaar

By Rahmat Ullah Swati Timergara: Acting on confidential information received by the Deputy Commissioner of Lower Dir, Muhammad Arif Khan, and the Assistant Commissioner of Timergara, Zaid Safi, a team of the KP Food Safety & Halal Food Authority carried out an operation in Timergara Bazaar. The operation was led by Assistant Director Shakeel Ahmed in collaboration with the district administration, the Livestock Department, and SHO Timergara Ikramullah Khan.

Unhygienic Meat Seized by KP Food Authority

During the operation, more than 300 kilograms of unhygienic and hazardous meat were recovered from a butcher’s shop. The shop was sealed on the spot, and an FIR was registered against the accused, who was later taken into custody. Following post-mortem examination and detailed inspection by Livestock Doctor Faheem and the KP Food Authority team, the seized meat was disposed of at the TMA dumping point.

District Administration Tightens Food Monitoring

In a special message, Deputy Commissioner Lower Dir Muhammad Arif Khan stated that the district administration, in coordination with the technical teams of the KP Food Authority, is closely monitoring food items in all tehsils of the district. He said daily inspections of food items in markets are being conducted through the Food Authority’s modern mobile food testing laboratory. He also urged the public to promptly report any substandard or unsafe food to the relevant authorities to help ensure the availability of clean and quality food for all citizens.
