KP BTA inspects Hamza Foundation thalassemia center in Peshawar

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Blood Transfusion Authority (KP BTA) conducted an inspection of the Hamza Foundation Welfare Thalassemia and Hemophilia Center in Peshawar to review blood safety standards and patient care facilities. The visit focused on ensuring compliance with regulated transfusion practices and improving services for patients with chronic blood disorders.

The inspection was led by Dr. Tariq Khan, who reviewed key operational areas including the digital laboratory and blood bank, reception, donor rooms, patient wards, and storage facilities.

Focus on safety and patient care

Officials assessed the blood screening process to ensure adherence to safe transfusion protocols. The team examined procedures for donor management, testing, and storage to evaluate overall service quality.

The KP BTA team appreciated the foundation’s efforts in providing welfare services to patients suffering from thalassemia and hemophilia, noting the importance of such centers in supporting long-term treatment needs.
