A baby allegedly abducted from Lady Reading Hospital (LRH) in Peshawar has been recovered from Nowshera, while police have arrested a woman in connection with the case.
According to police, the incident occurred on September 30, when the infant was allegedly taken from the hospital.
Following an investigation, police traced and arrested the suspected woman and recovered the child from Nowshera.
Suspect Allegedly Had No Children
Police said the suspect allegedly did not have children of her own and had reportedly faced taunts over being childless.
Investigators believe this may have been a motive behind the alleged abduction, although the circumstances and motive remain part of the ongoing investigation.
Safe City Cameras Help Trace Suspect
According to police, the woman initially travelled by rickshaw after allegedly taking the baby and later boarded a taxi.
Investigators used Safe City surveillance cameras to trace the rickshaw and follow the suspect’s movements, eventually helping police locate and recover the child.
The woman has been taken into custody, while further investigation into the abduction is underway.
