Pind Dadan Khan: The roads of Khewra city have turned into ruins. During rainfall, the stretch from Z-Mor to Wara Buland turns into a rainwater channel, and near Wara, all vehicular traffic comes to a halt. For the first time, rainwater entered people’s homes. Previously, large drains were constructed from Z-Mor to Chungi, where rainwater used to flow, but as the population increased along the rainwater passages, people blocked these drains and built houses. The Highway Department and local administration paid no attention to this issue. Even now, houses are being constructed on rainwater channels, with no one to restrain the land grabbers.

The road from Z-Mor to Islam Ganj was built during Nawaz Sharif’s era, but extremely poor-quality material was used in its construction. Corruption by commission mafias filled their pockets, and within six months, the road deteriorated to a worse condition than Lilla Carriageway. Public circles are demanding immediate action from the Chief Minister of Punjab.
