ISLAMABAD: Defense Minister Khawaja Asif has demanded strong action against the real planners and masterminds of the May 9 vandalism of military installations in the country.
Referring to X, formerly Twitter, the veteran politician complained about the delay in sentencing those involved in the May 9 mayhem.
“Up to 25 people were sentenced today for the May 9 riots. The delay in justice has further strengthened their middlemen,” the defense minister said.
According to Khawaja Asif, these people were made heroes who defiled the sanctity of our martyrs and ghazis.
The PML-N leaders also demanded strict action against the real planners and masterminds of the May 9 mayhem to avoid similar episodes in future.
The ISPR said on Saturday that the nation has witnessed politically motivated incidents of vandalism and violence, terming the May 9 incidents as one of the darkest chapters in the country’s history.
According to the ISPR, the May 9 incidents came as a huge shock to the nation. She said the verdicts were announced after gathering conclusive evidence against the convicts.
