WASHINGTON: Supporters of Khalistan, the Sikh movement for the liberation of Indian Punjab, staged a massive demonstration as Indian Foreign Minister S Jaishankar arrived in Washington.
The Indian foreign minister met US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and US National Security Advisor (NSA) Jake Sullivan.
In the wake of Indian Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar’s visit, pro-Khalistan Sikhs protested furiously and demanded the removal of the Modi government.
Modi’s government is accused of running global murder and espionage networks against Sikhs in western countries.
Khalistan supporters in Washington chanted slogans against Modi’s policies and government and demanded justice for Sikhs living in India.
They also demanded sanctions against India as a result of the killing of Sikh freedom fighters and activists.
He also accused FM Jaishankar of targeting Sikh activists and supporting extrajudicial killings worldwide.
Jaishankar’s visit is largely aimed at salvaging the Modi-Adani tie-up.
