Pakistani drama writer Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar has clarified his earlier comments regarding actress Saba Qamar’s choice of clothing.
Speaking on a recent podcast, Qamar said he had taken back his previous remarks about Saba Qamar, emphasizing that what a person chooses to wear is a personal matter. He said Saba Qamar is free to wear whatever she wants and that he cannot stop anyone, describing the matter as one between the individual and God.
However, the playwright clarified that he does not permit bold clothing in dramas written by him. He said he also does not approve of outfits with deep necklines.
Qamar further criticized the trend of women being encouraged to wear revealing clothes while men generally dress fully.
His latest comments have once again sparked discussion around clothing choices, personal freedom and artistic boundaries in Pakistani entertainment.
