LONDON: Former England batter Kevin Pietersen has taken a humorous swipe at Pakistan cricket following the team’s major changes during its ongoing tour of England.

Pietersen joked about the questions Pakistan captain Babar Azam could face before the next match, particularly regarding the large number of changes made to the squad after the team’s poor performances.

Pietersen Jokes About Babar’s Pre-Match Interview

In a post on X, Pietersen suggested that Babar could face an unusually long pre-match interview because of questions about the changes to Pakistan’s squad.

Referring to Babar as his friend, Pietersen joked that the interview would be so long that the toss should perhaps be conducted the night before the match.

The remarks came after Pakistan made major changes to its squad following a difficult start to the England tour.

Seven Players Sent Back to Pakistan

Pakistan sent seven players back home following the team’s disappointing performances. Among those reportedly withdrawn from the squad were Mohammad Rizwan, Salman Ali Agha and Imam-ul-Haq.

The changes have attracted criticism from former Pakistan cricketers, while Pietersen’s comments added a humorous dimension to the discussion surrounding the team’s selection and management decisions.
