Lahore | April 30, 2026: Kashf Foundation recognised women entrepreneurs at its Women Entrepreneurship Awards 2026 (WEA 2026) in Lahore, highlighting the economic impact of female-led businesses and financial inclusion initiatives.
The event, held at Nishat Hotel under the theme “Give to Gain,” brought together industry leaders, policymakers, development partners, and media representatives. Organisers said the awards aim to showcase how access to finance and training enables women to build sustainable businesses and contribute to local economies.
Speaking at the ceremony, Roshaneh Zafar, Founder and Managing Director of Kashf Foundation, said women’s access to financial opportunities has a wider impact on households and communities. She noted that the awards highlight the broader economic contribution of women entrepreneurs.
A keynote address was delivered by Sima Kamil, former President and CEO of UBL and former Deputy Governor of the State Bank of Pakistan, who emphasised the role of women’s economic participation in driving growth.
Showcasing entrepreneurship and impact
The event featured short documentaries on Kashf clients, followed by a panel discussion with filmmaker Anya Raza and entrepreneurs Naima Baji and Sadia Baji, who shared their business journeys in diverse sectors.
Awards were presented across eight categories, recognising contributions in areas such as innovation, sustainability, community impact, and youth entrepreneurship.
Organisers said the initiative reflects a broader focus on promoting inclusive economic growth and supporting women-led enterprises across Pakistan.
Kashf Foundation, established as Pakistan’s first specialised microfinance institution, continues to work on financial inclusion and social empowerment programmes aimed at strengthening the economic resilience of low-income women.
