Karachi Child Abduction and Murder Case Police Encounter

KARACHI: A suspect accused of abducting, sexually assaulting and killing a seven-year-old girl in Karachi’s Keamari district was killed in an alleged police encounter in the Jackson area, police said on Thursday.

According to police, officers were attempting to arrest the suspect after investigators traced his possible location through CCTV footage and other evidence collected in the case. The suspect allegedly opened fire when a police team approached him near Mubarak Masjid Street, prompting retaliatory firing.

Police Say Suspect Opened Fire During Raid

SSP Keamari Sanghar Malik said Jackson police had been investigating the abduction and murder of the child, identified as Dua, when they received confidential information about the suspect’s whereabouts.

A police team reached the location to make an arrest, but the suspect allegedly fired at officers. He was critically wounded during the exchange of fire and later died, according to the police account.

Police said further investigation into the Karachi child abduction and murder case was continuing. Details about any weapons or other evidence recovered from the scene were not immediately provided.
