During past few weeks a surge in dengue cases was reported in the metropolis city but as the temperature lowered, the dengue cases also declined.
However, in last couple of days the dengue infection cases have resurged and more than a dozen fresh dengue cases were reported in different districts of Karachi.
As per reports, these cases are reported in districts Central, East, Korangi, South, Malir and Kemari.
During the month of November, over 120 cases were reported across Karachi taking the total number of the dengue cases reported in 2024 to 1,866.
In month of October, Sindh remained in the grip of malaria and over 100,000 cases were reported in second week of the month.
During past one week, as many as 106,684 cases of malaria were reported across the province.
Larkana was affected most having 11588 malaria cases while Khairpur remained second on the list with 10681 cases.
On the other hand, Qamar reported 7998 malaria cases, Mirpurkhas, 7230, Dadu 6045, Badin 5948, Sanghar 5703, Tharparkar 5126, Tando Allahyar, 4809, Sukkur 4673, Naushehro Feroze 4590, Shikarpur 3970 and Umerkot reported 3546 malaria cases.
The NIH sources stated that Karachi reported 779 cases during the past week including 155 cases from District West, 135 from East, 82 from Korangi, 52 from South and six malaria cases from Kemari.
