Actor and BJP MP questions protesters’ conduct in social media post following demonstrations at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar.

NEW DELHI: Bollywood actor and BJP Member of Parliament Kangana Ranaut has drawn attention online after criticising viral videos from a student protest held at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi, describing the demonstrators’ conduct and language as inappropriate.

In a series of posts shared on her Instagram Story, Kangana said she was disturbed by the videos circulating on social media and criticised the tone and behaviour of some participants.

She wrote that she had “never seen so much ugliness in one place,” referring to what she described as the protesters’ language and manner of expression.

The actor also questioned the upbringing of some of the young demonstrators, saying she wondered who had raised them. She added that India is known for its cultural heritage, traditions and civility, and argued that the conduct seen in some of the protest videos did not reflect those values.

Kangana further criticised a group that she referred to as “Cockroach,” using strong language to describe the protesters and claiming the videos had left her mentally exhausted, prompting her to consider taking a “digital detox.”

Her remarks have generated discussion on social media, with supporters and critics expressing differing views. The student protesters have not publicly responded to Kangana’s comments at the time of reporting.
