Mirpur – President of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir High Court Bar Association, Khalid Bashir Mughal, has stated that the judiciary plays an exemplary role in ensuring justice for the people. He emphasized that the timely hearings of cases and fair verdicts have significantly increased public confidence in the judicial system.
Speaking to journalists during a visit to the Kashmir Press Club Mirpur, on the invitation of its office bearers, Advocate Khalid Bashir expressed pride in the performance of the judiciary. He highlighted that there are currently no pending old cases at the High Court Registry, showcasing the efficiency of the courts.
Accompanied by the General Secretary of the Bar Association, Advocate Majid Hussain Raja, Khalid Bashir Mughal also extended his gratitude to the office bearers and members of the Kashmir Press Club for their warm invitation.
Responding to a question regarding the appointment of judges in the superior judiciary, he acknowledged that while timely appointments are crucial, the existing procedures are time-consuming. He stressed the need to amend the constitution to ensure a more efficient process for judicial appointments.
The Bar President reiterated his confidence in the judiciary and called for further reforms to strengthen its role in upholding justice across Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
